Math and science skills are increasingly important for the work world. They are also increasingly important to understand what is going on in this world. To graduate, students must show that they have learned and can apply basic scientific and quantitative skills. To meet the requirement, students must complete one formal lab report. There are opportunities to complete this requirement in regular science classes that students take to meet their credit requirements.
For the class of 2010, students will also have to read a periodical for quantitative and scientific information, in addition to the formal lab report. More information will be provided on the activity required to show that they have read and understood the information.
For the class of 2011, students will also have to complete a data analysis report, in addition to the two requirements met by the class of 2010. More information will be provided on what that data analysis report must entail.
