Some parents have reported that they have tried to check the race/ethnicity data for their students, as requested by the district, but could not find the link to do so. Only the first parent/guardian listed for the first family for a student, the person the letter was addressed to, can change the race/ethnicity data. Only that parent will be able to see the race/ethnicity button.
That restriction is the way our student information system provider has set up the system for all the school districts they serve. We recognize that often the first parent listed may not be the person who handles most school/home communication.
If you are not the first parent/guardian listed and are trying to check your student’s data, you have two main options.
-
Fill in the paper form and return it to any school
-
If the first parent has a Parent Access account, ask them to make the change
You may also want to consider asking your school office to change which parent appears first in your student’s data. Offices are still very busy with the start of school paperwork so this change may take some time to implement.
