Lyrica Vocal Ensemble Ties for First at Music Festival
The weekend of May 17-18, Lyrica Vocal Ensemble, Lake Washington High School’s large mixed auditioned choir, traveled to Los Angeles, Calif. to compete in a large Heritage Festival at Fullerton College. There were 26 high school choirs from Texas, Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, Washington and Alberta in attendance at the festival. Lake Washington tied for first place overall with the awesome A Cappella Choir from Plainview High School from Plainview, Texas. It was the largest competition (in numbers of choirs) that Lake Washington High School has been to, and one of the most successful tours they have had. In addition, the students had a two-hour clinic with the directors and some students at the wonderful Chapman University School of Music, in Orange, California.
