Two additional Lake Washington School District students receive National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships
Two students among 2,000 additional distinguished students recognized nationwide
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Redmond, Wash. – The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced on July 9, 2012 that two additional Lake Washington School District students, Edward Cordell and Jessica Jin, both from International Community School, have received National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships. A previous announcement was made about three other college-sponsored scholarship recipients from LWSD.

Edward received a National Merit Rice University Scholarship and Jessica received a National Merit Claremont McKenna College Scholarship.

Two thousand additional winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by colleges and universities were announced by NMSC on July 9. Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among Finalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
