New Grades 9-12 Social Studies Curriculum Public Review
Parents can weigh in on choice

May 27, 2008 to June 23, 2008
Resource Center Lobby
16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond Town Center

Lake Washington School District seeks public input on Social Studies textbooks to be adopted for use in the 2008-2009 school year. The materials under consideration include: McDougal-Littell, World History: Patterns of Interaction, 2009, and Pearson, Government in America: People, Politics and Policy, 2008. A committee of secondary teachers representing each of our schools selected the curriculum materials. This committee spent the 2007-2008 school year developing criteria for materials selection based on district standards for Social Studies. The committee applied the selection criteria in its research of available curricula and feel that the selected materials best meet these criteria.

Materials can be viewed in the lobby at the Resource Center, 16250 NE 74th St., in Redmond Town Center, from May 27 to June 23. The building opens daily at 7:30 a.m. Citizens can provide input on the curriculum using a feedback form that is available at the display in the Resource Center Lobby.
