Redmond, Wash. – Lake Washington School District will make up three snow days by extending the school year by two days and by changing four previously scheduled Wednesday 1.5-hour early release days to full days.
The last day of school, a half day, will move from Wednesday, June 21, to Friday, June 23. To make up the third snow day, the following early-release Wednesdays will now be regular full school days:
- Wednesday, March 22
- Wednesday, April 12
- Wednesday, May 3 and
- Wednesday, May 31
In addition, the LWSD calendar has been updated as follows:
- Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday June 22 will now be full school days for students. Wednesday, June 21 will NOT be an early release day.
- Friday, June 23 will be the last day of school. It will be a half (1/2) day for students and a full day for staff. See the list of half-day dismissal times.
If there are any additional snow days this year, they will be made up the week of June 26.
State law requires students to attend school a minimum of 180 days and 1027 hours per year. When school is cancelled due to snow or inclement weather, those days and hours of instruction must be made up.
