Lake Washington School District Announces Elementary Principal Changes
 
Two new elementary principals join the District

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Redmond, Wash. – The Lake Washington School District (LWSD) announces several elementary principal changes for the 2008-2009 school year, including the addition of two new principals.

Mary Cronin, the current principal at Franklin Elementary will move to the new elementary school on the Sammamish Plateau (now known as Rachel Carson Elementary).

Kim Fricke will be the new principal at Franklin Elementary. Fricke joins LWSD from Clovis, California, where she has served as a building administrator since 2005. Fricke has served in the roles of learning director and instructional specialist at both the elementary and the high school level, as well as a literacy coach and teacher support provider. Prior to administrative roles, Fricke taught at the elementary level in both California and Washington. She taught in Bellevue and completed her student teaching in Lake Washington.

Larry Pollock, the current principal at Wilder Elementary, will retire in June. Steve Roetcisoender, the current principal at Thoreau Elementary, will move to Wilder Elementary.

Mindy Mallon will be the new principal at Thoreau Elementary. Mallon has served as one of LWSD’s Consulting Teachers since 2003. Previously, Mallon served as a Title I teacher at Redmond Elementary and as a special education teacher at Finn Hill Jr. High, as well as serving as a teacher and a building administrator in California. Mallon brings with her a great depth of knowledge and strong instructional leadership.
