With just one hour per week, you can make a difference in the life of a child in need. LINKS, Looking Into the Needs of Kids in Schools, is a volunteer and mentoring program of the Lake Washington School District, connecting community volunteers with schools and children in the district. Volunteer opportunities include mentors, math and reading assistance, tutoring, and homework help. Funding for LINKS is provided by the Lake Washington Schools Foundation.
Training sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 7, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the LWSD Resource Center, 16250 NE 74th Street, Redmond (in Redmond Town Center). All interested community members are welcome to attend and learn more about how to become a LINKS volunteer. For information, contact LINKS Program Coordinator Nanci Wehr at links@lwsd.org, or 425-702-3410 or visit www.linksvolunteer.org.
