Community Invited to Kirk and Mead Elementary School Open House Events
Projects funded by April 2016 bond measure

Building on Success logoRedmond, Wash. – Lake Washington School District (LWSD) is “Building on Success.” That’s the district’s plan to build schools and to provide quality learning environments. It is based on a set of recommendations from a community-based Long-Term Facilities Planning Task Force. An April 2016 bond measure funds the first set of recommended projects. Two of those projects are to rebuild and enlarge Peter Kirk Elementary and Margaret Mead Elementary Schools.

Community members are invited to join LWSD staff for an update on these two projects. The updates reflect comments from community meetings held in March 2017, additional work by the School Construction Input teams and suggestions made by the expert Design and Construction Advisory Team.

Input from parents, staff and community members is vital at this point in the design process. The meetings are scheduled for:

Tuesday, June 6, 2017
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

1725 216th Avenue NE, Sammamish, 98074
Thursday, June 8, 2017

For those who are not able to attend, we will have illustrations and other information posted on the Building for Success website at for Mead Elementary by Friday, June 9, and for Kirk Elementary by Monday, June 12.
