In 2006, a community/school district committee developed a budget screen to help guide budget making decisions. The budget decision screen is a set of statements that express specific priorities such as "Ensure budget decisions do not compromise the safety and security of students and staff." This screen has been used ever since as the district has created the yearly budget.
