Special Education Transportation to Out-of-District Facilities
The board authorizes the transportation of children to out of district facilities only when the Lake Washington Schools cannot provide the specific education service. Reasonable requests for such transportation shall be made to the transportation department through the Special Services Department. Requests shall be honored under the following conditions.
- That the education service in question has been approved by the Lake Washington School District.
- That the Lake Washington School District retains the right to determine the mode of transportation and reimbursement regulations.
- If, in the judgment of the Lake Washington School District personnel, services for a child do exist within the Lake Washington District, and those services are refused by the parent, no transportation assistance shall be provided by the district.
