Student Conduct on School Buses

File: JFCC

Rules and regulations for student riding school buses are prepared by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction by and with the advice of the Chief of the Washington State Patrol and the Director of Highways for the State of Washington.

Each bus driver has the authority to hold each pupil accountable for any disorderly conduct or anti-social behavior while under his/her supervision and to make recommendations to the proper school authority for disciplinary action when such conduct occurs.

Law enforcement agencies work closely with the transportation department and may be called upon to provide assistance in cases where immediate disciplinary action is required.
