The school directors and staff of the Lake Washington School District, recognizing the rights and responsibilities of parents, shall encourage parents to become actively involved in those decision-making processes related to the improvement of instruction by providing opportunity for this involvement through parent-teacher-student associations, parent club organizations, advisory councils, and/or special task force committees.

In addition, unless the Board of Directors makes a specific exemption, the selection of administrative new-hires for all elementary, junior high, and senior high school principals and vice principals shall involve citizen participation.
